چکیده

A convenient signaling scheme, termed orthogonal on–off binary phase-shift keying ( BPSK), along with a simple one-shot linear decorrelating detector (LDD), was proposed by Zheng and Barton as a technique for near–far resistant detection in the asynchronous direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) systems. The temporally adjacent bits from different users in the received signals are decoupled by using the on–off signaling, and the data rate is maintained with no increase in the transmission rate by adopting an orthogonal structure. This paper examines the effects of three classes of synchronization errors, including time-delay errors, carrier phase errors, and carrier frequency errors, on the performance of the BPSK LDD in an asynchronous CDMA near–far environment. It is shown that the performance of the BPSK LDD has an advantage over that of the isolation bit insertion detector in the presence of synchronization errors. In addition, numerical results show that the BPSK LDD still offers a good near–far resistant property as long as synchronization errors do not exceed some practical limit.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

On the performance of O3BPSK LDD with diversity combining techniques over fading channels

Zheng and Barton developed a convenient signaling scheme (orthogonal on-off BPSK (OBPSK)) with a simple one-shot linear decorrelating detector (LDD) for near–far resistant detection in asynchronous DS/CDMA systems. This paper studies the performance of the OBPSK LDD system over a frequency-nonselective and slowly fading channel. Three types of channel model are considered, namely Rayleigh fadin...

Performance Analysis of ZF Pre-Coder and Extended Joint Channel Estimation Method in Downlink CDMA with HPA

In the down link scenario of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, multi user detectors (MUDs) such as linear de-correlating detector (LDDs) provide satisfactory symbol error rates (SERs) at the expense of much increased complexity, they require all active users’ spreading sequences, which is impractical from privacy point of view. To overcome this impracticality, a simple matched filte...

Performance of Iterative DS-CDMA M-ary Demodulation in the Presence of Synchronization Errors

The robustness of different interactive schemes for demodulating M-ary orthogonal signaling formats in asynchronous DS-CDMA systems to the synchronization errors is addressed in this paper. The system under study resembles the uplink of an IS-95 system. The channel is assumed to be a time-varing flat Rayleigh-fading channel. Our simulation results show that performance degradation for the consi...

In this paper we consider the uplink transmission within CP-assisted (Cyclic Pre ̄x) DS-CDMA (Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access) systems and we present a frequency-domain MUD (MultiUser Detection) receiver with iterative estimation and compensation of residual frequency errors. The proposed receiver is suitable for broadband wireless systems, with performances that can be close to th...
